TheOriginsofthePhoneticAlphabet

ThephoneticalphabetoftheArcdeTriomphewasdesignedbytheFrenchlinguistandphilosopherJean-PierreRousselotinthelate19thcentury.Rousselotwasapioneerinthefieldofphonetics,studyingsoundpatternsandarticulationinspeech,andhisworkledtothedevelopmentoftheInternationalPhoneticAlphabet,usedtodaybylinguistsandlanguagelearnersalike.
